These poems are a kind of kaleidoscope, playing with the bright glass splinters of dangerous and fascinating questions. Is it possible for women and men to live together? What does it mean to love? Where do the words of poetry come from?

Throughout Bernadette Hall’s third collection of poetry, the twin themes of love and the process of writing appear and reappear, sometimes in combination, sometimes in competition, until in the final poems they are united in a mood of celebration.
